This month the challenge at OUAS is about Mom. This is a very special month for me, because my Mom and I are very close, in fact, we're best friends. I wanted to adapt this challenge into a gift that I could give her for Mother's Day. We hold handmade gifts in high esteem in my household, so I decided this would be perfect. The sketch is as follows:
I made a few adaptations to the sketch. The main one is that instead of layering paper behind the focus photo, I created a book of photos and attached it to the page so that the pages could be flipped. So, without further ado, here is my page:
So, as you can see, I adapted the title to fill all the empty space on the left, and modified the banner a bit at the top. All the journaling is on the inside of the flip book, which I am trying to upload pictures of currently but am having internet difficulty. The book is held together with ribbon covered loops, and tiny little wooden closepins. The flowers on the bottom are Prima (loooove!), and I cut the letters on my Cricut, then added glitter and pearls. I will try to add the pics of the inside of the book soon! I hope you love this page as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by!
Your idea to fill in the empty space with your title payed off. Great page and great interpretation of the challenge. Thanks for joining in at OUAS.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tribute to your Mom.

I just love the way you've filled up the empty space with your title. Looks amazing! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Once Upon a Sketch.
